What I like most about TJR are the characters that she creates. They always feel real to me and their motives are clear. They may be one dimensional or annoying sometimes but I understand them and more often than not end up rooting for them. The books are predictable but are so comfortable and entertaining and always leaves me  with something to ponder.

I loved every moment in this book from start to finish. I’ve never been married but I like how she presented different perspectives on that topic.

The beginning argument between Ryan and Lauren was so uncomfortable. The type of argument that happens between two people that know all the soft spots to hit.

The journey Lauren takes after that fallout with her husband is filled with self discovery, compromise and humor. I Loved her family dynamics. I LOVED Lauren’s sister Rachel. I related to her outlook on life and love so much. I wished we had more of her. But I get that this is Lauren’s story.

I can’t lie and say that initially I was happy with the ending. I wanted her romantic life to play out a differently. Because we were told more than shown how Ryan has evolved. And seeing that growth would have made the ending more satisfying. But I get it.

I’m officially a fan. This book has tied with Carrie Soto as my favorite TJR book so far. I have two more books to read before reading all of her backlist.
