Such a charming yet meaty book about friendship and solitude and our relationship with the natural world and people.

I did in fact cry while reading this book. I am still in denial. It could have flowed a little better, but on the whole I enjoyed it immensely and really want to read The Little Prince to a fox now.

I won an advanced readers copy for an honest review.
The title and the cover caught my eye. I love anything to do with fox and though it would be adorable.
While the book and the idea were adorable I found myself skipping sentences because I really didn’t need to read it. I got the gist of most of the book and I was really hoping for a bit more. I loved the style of writing and the fact that the fox had chosen er as his safe place.
I’m at a solid 3.5 with this because some of the parts just weren’t for me. Again, I loved the whole story line and most of everything that happened but I felt like it needed something more.

I love stories about women in nature, but this was an odd read. The wildlife descriptions are a bit convoluted and it was difficult to connect due to the long, unnecessary detours. I unfortunately felt like I did a lot of skimming just to get through. In the first half only a paragraph or two would catch my attention, however by the time I reached the halfway mark it picked up and was a slightly more enjoyable read.

I couldn't get into it. I wanted to know more about the relationship with the fox but there was very little story building to grab my attention.
