I loved how tonally different this book was from the first book in the series, Sara Ivy Hill does a great job of really making her characters distinct. Both characters had some trauma and trust issues to work through and it was nice that both of them grew together rather than one character doing the heavy lifting.

I enjoyed the first book but this just wasn’t the same.
For a start a side female character Y’len was far more likeable and intriguing than the main character and Thren the MMC was unlikeable. He wasn’t unlikeable because he is grumpy I can live with that but it’s because he’s a lying, manipulative gaslighting bastard and she just shrugs and goes oh well I like sex with him

started getting bored. i think this one was slightly better than the first but only marginally. i felt there were a lot of plot holes that needed answering. also any conflict that happened never had a climactic moment.for example, when Bree finds out Thren has been lying to her about the possibility of going to back to earth shes so angry and hurt by the betrayal and then the next moment shes totally fine with it. like...??? thats it?
i desperately wanted to like this series but it wasnt it for me. i felt both books were way overly dramatic and went on too long

I loved this book about a king trapped by hate and rage, who finds his queen who helps him see there is more to the world than letting ghosts from the past rule you. It is a great continuation of the story from the first book, which you really need to read first for full effect of the story and world. Fated mates, spicy,HEA.

This was super plot heavy contrary to its cover art so it wasn’t what I was expecting. It was dual pov, but I find I enjoy the fmc pov the most in alien romances. It’s not bad, just wasn’t for me.
The setting is kind of like Avatar though which was cool! Insta-love, fated mates, royal blood line etc.
