Jackrabbit McCabe can outrun anything...until the telegraph comes into town. Can Jackrabbit outrun this new technology?

This pencil-drawn picturebook with Photoshop coloring maintains its 19th century feel through muted colors and nostalgic imagery. The story is engaging and feels almost like a tall (pun totally intended) tale or legend. It is informative and thoughtful, yet also just great storytelling.

A fun tall tale to add to your collection of Paul Bunyan and the rest. Jackrabbit McCabe is faster than anything or anyone, but is he faster than a telegraph? The illustrations are delightfully old-fashioned and capture the advent of new technology really well.

JACKRABBIT MCCAGE & THE ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH is written in tall tale form with fantastic illustrations of the boy who is faster than horses, trains, and tornados. However, when the new telegraph comes to town, Jackrabbit has competition. I love the author's note about the electric telegraph and morse code.
