I thought I was getting a totally different book - not incest.

One of the nose tender and heart-moving stories I've ever read. It's worth every word.

The plot synopsis doesn't do it justice. This story was sad, weird, and beautiful.

If I were basing my review of this book on the ending I would give it two stars but since I enjoyed the rest of it I'm still giving four. I thought the very last chapters were way too heavy handed and the author was trying too hard to make everything meaningful and symbolic.

But the rest of the story was so gripping, particularly the final third, that I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.

I stumbled across this book searching for something I could checkout on my kindle from the library. I'm surprised that this book wasn't already on my radar or that it hadn't been read by any if my goodreads friends. I feel like I discovered a rare gem of a book!

Tell the Wolves I'm Home had an indie film sort of feel. it was unique and beautifully written. The relationships between the characters were so genuine and heartbreakingly realistic.

I did find myself not loving a portion of the final 1/4-1/2 of the book, as the writing didn't feel as tight as it did the first 1/2. The ending, though, was perfect.

This book exceeded my already-high expectations. It was simultaneously beautiful and heartbreaking.

Reading Challenge 2017: A book recommended by an author you love

A história é fofa e emocionante.
