This was a really cute, albeit cheesy, adult romance.

I really loved the character development and the internal conflict, and now I may be contemplating if sports romance is my new favorite romance tropešŸ¤Œ

classic friends to lovers, adored the dual pov but i now understand the most common criticism on this book... for a 300 pages book, the beggining is reallyyyyy slow paced & imo, the repetitive mentions of the (atp) 'mystery' incident Bree suffered were unnecessary (we get it lol!!). secondly, even though i found nathan and the narrative really cute, both characters acted very immature and even childish for people in their ages. there's a lot of miscommunication, which could have made more sense, if they were teenagers and not grown ups. i also believe it felt rushed at the end. there was such a build up over them realizing the feelings they have for each other (the signs were too obvious at some point, girl i also overthink things but gaslighting youself for ages ain't it) just for it to be mutual and develop so quickly...
Spoiler the whole marriage thing? what about getting to know eachother in a intimate level first? the idea of waiting until it was cute but it feel frustrating like we've been waiting for some action n now i'm reading a marriage in vegas???

anyway, nathan was a real sweetheart, so caring and thoughtful - i LOVED his pov's, such a power couple! the buying gifts love language isn't my favorite but i adored the fact she learned to appreciate it because he was genuine about it.
Spoiler the panic attack part was SO CUTE, i love how she helped him and validated his feelings <3

p.s.: i have no nfl knowledge which could have made me step back but it was a relatively fun quick read

Nothing like a cute, cheesy, football romance! This one was super cute! This one has fake dating which is one of my favorite romance tropes, so of course I was bound to like it! As a former dancer, I loved the ballet content, and Nathan's love for Bree was so adorable! This didn't hit five stars for me because of the miscommunication trope (my god people just TALK!) and when they finally got together, there were some... cringy things? If you've read this, then you probably know what I'm talking about, but some of it just seemed unnecessary. Keep in mind that this is a non-spicy romance-- the only steam you get is a few kisses and an almost-strip-tease. Overall I recommend if you're looking for a quick, non-spicy, sports romance :)

Not the worst romance book, but infuriating at times as it was obvious that they both liked each other.
