This was a really cute, albeit cheesy, adult romance.

I really loved the character development and the internal conflict, and now I may be contemplating if sports romance is my new favorite romance trope🤌

Super cheesy book. Just like a Hallmark movie may be a little better. The big let down of the book is the plot. It’s very sweet and simple. I wish there was a bigger climax and conflict.

Not as much my cup of tea compared to the two Rome, Kentucky books so far. Bree felt radically immature and often jealous/spiteful. Couldn’t see what Nathan saw in her.

Also, at one point I was certain Bree said “I don’t like surprises,” and then the entire ending sequence was one surprise after another and she was totally fine with it?

I will say that I appreciated this book’s handling of panic attacks, debilitating perfectionism, and other mental health challenges that I have personally experienced.

I don’t know it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either like I knew going into it there would be no smut so that part didn’t surprise me. What annoyed me was the fmc she really gave pick me vibes and ya sure she did get slightly better but it was just weird like I don’t care how awful you think your best friends current gf is she was really out here like he’ll always choose me and admits that she’s been in love with him since they first became friends like that’s weird behavior for someone to have for a friend. And it drove me insane with the whole calling her Bree cheese like why so many why’s. And then I guess it’s fine if you want to wait until marriage like it made sense that he hadn’t been sleeping with other women for a while because he finally accepted that he loved his best friend but it was a bit odd that mr manwhore now wanted to wait until they were married. I don’t know I finished it and it got slightly better but I wasn’t a huge fan

This was just okay. I wasn't wowed. Actually, I was kinda annoyed throughout the whole book. The first is a writing style choice which really bugged me: why on earth are you capitalizing random words? Why are you using multiple exclamation marks? Are we texting our friends? No! We're writing a book! Do better. The other that irked me: Bree. She spent half the book whining about how she couldn't ever have Nathan and how much it will hurt when she loses him. I wanted to slap her in the face and tell her to get a hold of herself and just communicate. But no, she had to go on whining.

So yeah, I will not be reading this again. Everything was so dramatic and overdone.
