i love how this book was not a traditional romance, but more about self discovery. that you do not need a person but you may want them, and that’s fine. loved watching lauren working on her relationships. david had his own thing going, but i just didn’t care about him much. all he was to me was the man lauren was in love with, but that’s really it. maybe, it was because his POV was very much limited to the other women he dated, and how he realized he was in love with lauren. unlike lauren, there was nothing i felt he did for himself. and it’s okay, i guess.

It’s hard to know how to express what I liked about this book. The story was very real, not sneaky or conniving, not ruthless or lustful, but oddly (maybe awkwardly???) real? Questions that one might ask themselves if they too were put into these characters’ shoes. Lots of what ifs and maybes and nevers and no ways. Raw but not in an agonizing way. Hopeful but in a cautious way. Wonderful to have felt part of the narrative as the reader.

I always have to give Taylor 5 stars. It was very good but wasn't super happy with the ending. Kinda predictable and didn't like that. But liked the break up. And the drama
