cutish but if i've said it once i'll say it a thousand times, a slow burn with zero payoff is a waste of a book. do not have steamy makeout scenes and will they/won't they angst in a romance book and then just....never address if they have sex or not?????????? what on earth?????? ALSO to not know what a holiday is for and to ask 15 different people what it's about (and them to inexplicably not know either) in the current year when everyone and their dog has access to google dot com?? Insanity!

Listened on audio - The narrator did quite a good job.

The writing was quite pleasant and I generally found it quite soothing despite the first person POV.

However, as a romance this was quite bland and I didn’t find the lead couple compelling at all. Their romance didn’t make sense to me and I generally found them to lack chemistry. Perhaps if I had known this was a closed door romance I would have been better prepared. Who knows ? I don’t even think the couple reached that stage

A slow start, but ended up really liking it!! Nikki was a little cringy, but ended up liking her more than I thought. I liked the self actualization aspect and didn’t feel forced or cheesy.

INSTA-LOVE. This book was just okay. Insta-love is the bane of my existence. Sam and Niki were together (barely) for literally days and she was considering moving to London to be with him, gag. The setting was fun though.

And with that, I have completed my 2021 reading challenge.

Super cute! Felt like resolution was kinda “meh” but was on par for most romance books
