I honestly don't even know what to say. It just never got good. It went from nothing happening and being incredibly boring, to shit hit the fan and didn't stop until the books over. If you decide to read it, check TW because there is a massive one in there.

⭐️ wasted my time
⭐️⭐️ not terrible but not great
⭐️⭐️⭐️ good, but wouldn't read again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ really liked it and recommend it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ absolutely loved it! Move it up on your TBR

Spoiler it started off rather slow, like most books do, however the romance and the tension between them both picked up quickly. the meaning behind holders tattoo made me cry because it was adorable. towards the end, skys memories filter back to her and the book becomes more dark and talks about her childhood, making it plot based.
Spoiler
i really enjoyed this book but i could definitely see it having a bit more romance, to draw me in more.

dark tense
I remember reading this as a teenager and feeling incredibly disturbed by the things the protagonist experiences.

☁️ THOUGHTS:
This is a seriously under-rated CoHo read.. I can't believe its taken me this long to read it! I was NOT expecting the heart-shattering story that this unravelled into, and it broke my heart. This book is filled with love, sadness, dispair, hope and just about every other emotion imaginable. It's a story of love, survival and strength.

“𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞.”

Sky and Holder were real, likeable, relatable characters, and I felt every single emotion they experienced throughout the plot. I LOVED Sky. She was blunt, sarcastic and strong: she was real. Holder was.. well he was Holder. He captured my heart with the way he supported Sky without question.

“𝐅𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐒𝐤𝐲. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬.”

The chemistry between the two, and the intensity and passion of their partnership as it developed felt believable, as they supported one another through a shared journey of horrifying revelations, deeply buried memories, trauma and finally healing.

‘𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫. 𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞. 𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐲 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦. 𝐖𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫.’

This was a heart-wrenching, beautiful, devestating and uplifting story of surviving. I'd recommend reading this but do check the content first, as there's some pretty dark topics discussed.
