I read this book rather quickly. I loved Jackie's poetic prose and, as a Scottish reader, I identified with the Scottish setting. I found the subject matter personal and interesting but and it definitely tugged at an issue that I can imagine is common for adopted people trying to find answers and identity. We all wish it could be a fantasy but it's not exactly.
Moderate: Bullying, Racial slurs, and Racism
Minor: Dementia
