Really interesting introduction to the Enneagram. After reading it, however, I'm still not certain which of two types I am. I thought this book would solve that question for me, but no such luck.

If you take out the spiritualization in the book, it's a fantastic resource.
The authors, however, attempted to shoehorn the Bible into the Enneagram when the Enneagram is a man-made construct and tool. Though helpful, it is in no way based on Scripture.

I had prior experience with the enneagram through a study of Helen Palmer's work, so this was not a new concept to me. This book was introduced to me through the rector of our church, who went over it in a Sunday school class, and that is where I got my copy. I think this book has valuable information for people striving for more self-awareness, especially in relationships with others. Where this book differs from others is its focus on spirituality - it is Christian in its focus. The layout and organization of the book, like others on this topic, are not arranged in a manner for straight-through reading, but to supplement one's knowledge of the 9 different types, so you can skip around and read each chapter as a self-contained whole. This is a great book for adult Sunday school classes, book groups, etc, and is sure to generate much discussion. Recommended!

Such a great description, and the self-compassion generated within the understanding here...well, that's worth every minute.

A more readable enneagram resource. I’ve been meaning to read this one for years and finally got to it. Helpful descriptions of each type with ideas for how to continue to grow into healthier ways of living.
