It's good for what it is. Simple, a tad cliched, action thriller with fun characters and setting.

Nothing groundbreaking or mind-blowing, but a nice bit of escapism when you fancy something light. Genuinely enjoyed the book and can see myself picking up others from the series from time to time.

I very much enjoyed the story and found it very intriguing. The book was probably 75 pages or so longer than it needed to be but on the whole I didn't mind that and still had a very pleasant reading experience. Usually I am not a huge fan of books written in first person, however I found Jack Reacher quite a compelling protagonist so it was of no issue. Initially I was unsure of Child's writing style (frequent short sentences etc) but soon did not notice/mind as I was enthralled by the story. On the whole, a very good book that I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the thriller genre and doesn't mind a bit of gore
