Quizás esté ya un poco mayor para este libro, pero la verdad es que contiene alguna historia que me puso los pelos de punta. La mayoría son conceptos interesantes demasiado cortos para que te transmitan algo, la antología se beneficiaría de tener menos historias pero el doble de largas.
Mis favoritas fueron las de Lemony Snicket, Jon Klasen, Nadia Aguiar, Stephen Marche, Lane Smith, Stacey Godenir, Frank Viva y Aaron Renier.
También hubo unas cuantas que simplemente eran confusas y otras aburridas y sinceramente me hicieron pensar que los autores no entendían como funcionan las historias de miedo. El microrrelato es muy difícil de hacer bien y cada palabra tiene que contar para que sea exitoso.

This was a deliciously creepy book. The stories, which most can literally be read in half a minute, are often incredibly scary, some are funny, others just weird. Middle schoolers, even some high schoolers will truly enjoy this terrifying read. They'll recognize many of the big name authors that contributed to the book - which will increase its appeal as well.
I think my favorite was M.T. Anderson's story, but beware...some of my fellow librarians DID NOT like it at all and found the book as a whole just too creepy. This increase my desire to read it even more. Children will feel the same. I can't wait to booktalk this one.

The storys were good, but most of them a little to short to get into the atmosphere for me.

Half-minute (or shorter as some I just read in a few seconds) horror stories. But did it work or not?
A pretty decent book, rating it a bit higher due to the variety in how the stories are told and for the index at the end (which doesn't work that well on my Kindle, but still I love a good index). From poetry to comics to normal storytelling, everything passes by. Some of the stories are very short (a few sentences) but some are a few pages long.
But the stories were quite hit and miss. Some really worked, most just felt too short. I know these are supposed to be half-minute horrors (or less), but I think some stories just don't work as short as they were. They need more time to show and tell. Some I was just confused what just happened. And that wasn't only for the text ones, but also the illustrated/comics were just a bit confusing due to their shortness.
The stories vary from icky spiders to clowns to monsters under the bed. Thankfully, not just the standard stuff that one often finds in horror books (vampires/werewolves/zombies). Don't get me wrong, I do love a good vampire or werewolf or zombie story, but they are just everywhere. It is refreshing to find a horror book that picks different fears and tells us about them.
The stories are a bit gross at times, not really something that is a favourite of mine, I much more prefer a good jump scare, or a sudden plot twist.
But all in all, it was still a nice idea, credit where credit is due, and again, there were a few stories that I did quite like.
Also bonus points go to the cover. I do love a creepy cover!
I would still recommend this one as I did have fun to read it, plus I like the idea of short horror stories.

It is always upsetting to understand, that you are just dissapointed with the book, when you are finished with it, but that is exactly what happened. I expected something really good from this highly experimental anthology, but in the end it was just boring. Many of the authors wrote out just an idea of the story, some didn't care about the half minute limit at all, other's just did not write anything interesting. There were, of course, some interesting stories, but there were just a couple of them and they were not able to really save this anthology.
