brandon sanderson is a man who writes girl characters really well. spensa is funny, quite relatable (more than usual scif/fantasy mcs), a bit odd in the best way. it's probably the thing i loved the most in this book.
plot is awesome, space pilot academies are great. more development of side characters would have been nice though.

The way they just nonchalantly killed characters made the whole experience so much better. Like yeah let's just slaughter the first guy that seems like a love interest, and then the rest of the characters will either die or drop out directly after accepting the main character. Lmao. The ending was so tense, there were like 20 pages left and she was about to explode so I thought the book would end with her death.
