I devoured this!
So much happened and I've seeing how Nikki and Rook were finding their way back to each other. I enjoyed their little stints at domesticity, despite not being obviously committed to each other. Rook is very head over heels but for Nikki her love shines through in concern and knowing his patterns.
I also adored the case with all the twists and turns and how two cases ended up being one! I am surprised by the outcome because I definitely thought someone else at the center of it! I wish the end, after its wrapped up would be more elaborated on, both case wise and giving the characters more moments to settle with everything that has happened.

I find it a bit odd that I'm giving this book four stars, but I think I have my reasons. After watching the Castle series and reading the first book, I expected something fairly short, somewhat complex without being overly complicated, something fun and filled with action. And that's what I got. The story moves along at a good pace and is interesting. I think for the length of this book, including the strange circumstances of not really knowing who wrote the book, it's a fab enough mystery crime book.

I enjoyed it. It pulled me in and made me excited to solve the crime. I still love the show. I plan to continue the series.

I liked the TV show Castle although I find the writing somewhat cliched at times. So when I started reading this series, I was expecting the same "I think I know who the killer is" cliched writing. Not.the.case.at.all. I think the writing in the books is better than the tv show. I like the character of Nikki Heat more than I like the character in the show. Enjoying this series a lot.

3.5 stars. This one felt closer to the TV show than the 1st one. It wasn't bogged down with too much description. It had a good pace. 3 murders and a suicide keep it hopping. I knew where the last chapter was the whole time, but then I guess we wouldn't gave gotten 270 pages and some good Heat & Rook time.

I liked the first one, but this one is too similar. Almost the same ending indeed...
Still one of the "author" that makes me read faster than ever, so I'll give it another chance with the third book.

This is the second book in Richard Castle's Niki Heat series. There pretty good books. I could see the ending coming but it was interesting how he got there. I'm sure I'll read the next one. I do enjoy the interplay between Rook and Niki and I'd like to see how their relationship develops.
