Best I’ve read this year so far. A little bit of Justified, a little bit of No Country for Old Men, with a lot of southern grit. Hillbilly noir might be my new favorite genre.

If you're really in the mood for Elmore Leonard/justified Appalachian organized crime this is enough to give you a little nip.
The multiple time periods are underwritten and mostly seem to just be a tool to explain the twist.

This book was a super slow burn and just didn't do it for me. I get the author was building back story but there just seemed to be too many viewpoints for my liking.
