Wow what a thriller, I did not see the ending coming at all. Lots of plot twists which I love

We follow Leah after 24 years after waking up after a sleepover to find her friends are missing. Owen the brother of one of the friends is making a 25 year anniversary documentary to see if he can unearth any answers to the mystery all these years later.

Leah is helping but keeps getting strange emails asking her to stop the documentary being made, what do they no? Interspersed with flashbacks to the time of the sleepover an absolutely gripping plot unfurls full of tension as Leah tries to figure out who is watching her

Please be warned there is a lot of reference to domestic abuse and how it affects children which may be triggering for some

My kind of suspense/thriller - short, to the point and that ending! Did not see that ending coming!
Four girls, weekly sleepovers - four happy girl friends, until 3 disappear and 1 wakes up.
Almost twenty years later, a filmmaker is determined to uncover the truth. A younger brother of one of the missing girls, he pushes Leah for any hint of a lie.
Mysterious emails threatening to reveal the truth, Leah desperately tries to remember any detail she may have overlooked.
I loved the audio - had me hooked!

It took me ages to read it because I was ill, also I found the first 50% abit slow. Ending was far fetched but I enjoyed the twist. I am glad there is a book 2.

I would first like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture, and Kerry Wilkinson for allowing me access to an advanced copy of The Night of the Sleepover in exchange for my honest review.

If you’re looking for a book that will keep you guessing until the end, this is a great pick. The writing reminded me of Freida McFadden’s writing, and was similar in that this book was so quick to read, and the end of each chapter left you wanting more. You’ll be saying “okay just one more chapter” until you reach the end.

I did enjoy this book, however I am giving it a 3 star rating simply because it felt like 40-50% of the book was unnecessary information that could have been removed. There is a sequel to this book that will be released in the future, so having some of the information I found unnecessary may be important to a sequel, but I just didn’t find it necessary.

Twenty five years ago four girls were on a sleepover but only one of them, Leah, woke up in the morning. Her three friends were nowhere to be found and now a documentary is being made about that night so that the truth can finally be discovered.

Overall The Night of the Sleepover by Kerry Wilkinson is an engaging read with a surprise ending and cannot wait to read the sequel .

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I throughly enjoyed this book! I loved how it dealt with before, during, and after the "infamous" sleepover as well as present time. My favorite thing(s) were the clues in the book. At first, I didn't realize they were clues, just pieces of character information, but when I read the ending, it all just came together! Loved the twist ending btw!!
Thank you, Netgalley, Bookouture, and Kerry Wilkinson, for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Four best friends went to sleep, but only one woke up.
It's been 25 years since the worst night of Leah's life, the night she slept through her friends going missing.
There are those who are skeptical about her story and think she knows more than she's letting on.
Now, one of the missing girl's brothers is making a documentary about that night, hoping for some clarity.
The cat and mouse game between Leah and someone who does not want this documentary to happen ensues.
Theories and lies are uncovered and exposed.
You will not believe the truth.
