Alright, this book did drag somewhat even more than the previous ones, especially in the middle while also having much less action than usual overall. But if you are like me who loves this world and doesn't really hate the characters so much that you don't want to read about them at all, which I know is probably asking for a lot as most of them can be wool-headed idiots, I still found it interesting enough. But then again, I'm definitely biased and have become too used to Jordan's vivid descriptions about people's appearance or the architecture in general. I found Path of Daggers to be more captivating and solid comparatively, but Winter's heart does have its moments, especially the amazing ending which is on par with Lord of Chaos for me. Regardless of how slow it has gotten so far, I'm leaning towards the 'there is no slog!' camp while bracing myself to read Crossroads of Twilight, which is supposedly the slowest one in the series so far.

My favorite character is back!!! That already makes this book way better. I feel like a lot happened and yet nothing happened at the same time? Thank goodness for apps that help you keep track of characters though, they pop up again from nowhere and it’s helpful to have a record of them, especially when they haven’t been around for 3 books. I’ve realized the audiobooks make this whole “slog” portion of the series much easier to get through and I’m actually enjoying them a lot more than I think I would be reading the physical copies.
