This is such a great series. Granted this book took me a little bit longer to read the others since it didn't hold my interest as much as they did, it was still very good.  I absolutely love Samuel's story in this book.
Spoiler My heart broke for him when it was discovered he tried to commit suicide.  He felt such pain.

This book, more than the last, I feel had too many plot lines happening simultaneously.  I wish that the plot had been more focused, though I did like learning more about the fae.
SpoilerI also really loved Samuel’s storyline in this book, but I wish that what ‘saved’ him was not a woman.  I think it feeds too much into patriarchal ideas of women ‘fixing’ men.  I continue to really appreciate the accurate portrayals of trauma and its lasting effects.

There was a short section in this book that called a part-Chinese character “inscrutable” and attributed this to his being Chinese.  It was disappointing and upsetting when I had previously enjoyed that this series seemed much more like the work of a feminist.  I hope that this section was well-meaning but ignorant, especially since the author is usually respectful and has taken care to have diverse and not tokenized characters.  I don’t know how to feel about this part of the book.
