And not only do I enjoy the formula, but the fact that the character makes some (however slow) progress in figuring out her personal life and overcoming her fears and flaws in every book, really keeps it from feeling like the same thing over and over to me. I especially love the progression of her relationship with Adam, and she is slowly figuring out that having a very protective strong male who really cares about her around is a good thing, even for a strong woman.
Graphic: Kidnapping, Domestic abuse, Fire/Fire injury, and Panic attacks/disorders
Moderate: Suicide attempt, Confinement, and Sexual content
Minor: Rape, Animal death, and Cannibalism

This time around it seems that she has something that is wanted by a mysterious fae who will do anything to get it, including hurting people that Mercy loves. On top of that, Mercy is still struggling with her feelings towards Adam and the pack from the last book giving her something else to think about.
And not to mention that she needs to save Sam from himself before it's too late.
Like I said, trouble loves Mercy.
Minor: Gun violence, Kidnapping, and Violence
