Beautifully written book about the strength it takes to survive, live and thrive with and without human connection and despite the pitfalls of circumstance.

Oh what a lovely read this was! Set in the backdrop of the Colorado western slope, it gave The Great Alone or Where The Crawdads Sing vibes — powerful story of the resilience of women. It was beautiful and I loved it.

I was completely taken in by the first chapter, couldn’t wait to read more, and then went on a roller coaster from there - alternating between thinking the book was trash to appreciating the evocative descriptions of the environment and the movement over large periods of time. I cried at the end, although only two tears. It was a strange experience.

I like Victoria, but the story is predictable.
