I must be insane because I just read this book I've been waiting for for a year and a half as soon as possible and in two and a half hours.

For me, though, it was worth the wait.

I now have a new favorite GG book (this one). It was just awesome. I was worried that I was starting to grow out of the books but this one stepped up and pulled me back. I loved that it was more mature, that Cam was more mature. And I don't think I'm really supposed to support some of the things she does but I was freaking cheering her on because 1) it's only a book and 2) she's a spy anyways.

I'll just list the reasons I love this book:
1) higher level of maturity (as previously mentioned)
2) the new friendships you see (effing. awesome.); especially bex and her new friend (winkwink). i just sat there and was like "that is one kick ass friendship." (especially the whole working-out together thing. wonderful.)
3) zach and cam.
4) zach at gallagher.
5) zach and townsend being fools (it was hilarious).
6) zach in general.
7) more action.
8) the surprise ending. guessed the "who" part but not the "what", "why", or "how" so it was still shocking.
9) bex and macey. those two were amazing. i absolutely loved them. (there wasn't that much liz so...)
10) the comeback of one of my favorite characters (hint: he/she is from GG3) in Rome (trying not to spoil much).
11) the fact that there are so many things i love about it that i can't even finish listing everything because people'll get bored.

And now I'll list the two drawbacks of this book (a second list in which I continue to neglect capitalization):
1) the fact there weren't more zach and cam moments (but believe me, i'm still overjoyed at the ones we did get. and i always want more so...)
2) i got so confused at the end. i was just like, "wait, what? what is going on right now?!" but then they explained it, so that's actually okay. still a little iffy on the "how" though.

(this next part isn't really much of a spoiler but i do quote a bit so yeah)
Spoileron the other hand, i would very much like to know when "the time to get handsy" is, zach. that tops my wishlist for GG6 ;)i'm a teenage girl, okay? what can i say?

This series is fantastic. I mean really there isn't any other way to explain it.

This installment has our favorite Gallagher Girl starting the book waking up in an Austrian convent with no memory of the last 4 months of her life. She has lot weight, drastically changed her hair, covered in wounds, and doesn't remember a damn thing to caused any of it.

Thus we spend the book alongside Cammie, Bex, Macey, Liz, Zack, her mom and her aunt, and of course the gorgeous MI6 agent Townsend retracing her steps in a desperate attempt to regain her memory while keeping her protected from the Circle which is continuously trying to kill her.

The book jumps from the Gallagher school to Austria, to Rome, to Ireland, and back again as Cammie tries to access her memories and retrace her father's step in his final mission - to bring down the circle. But all the while she is constantly doubting herself because she suddenly has new abilities she doesn't remember learning, went on missions she doesn't remember going on, and finding clues that she doesn't understand.

This book was super emotional for this series (considering it is Disney published and usually pretty light on the heavy stuff) and it only made it that much better! I loved experiencing all of Cammie's insecurities, fears, and sadness. She grew up so much in this book and we got to see it all from the first person perspective. Of course this also means the secondary characters weren't explored as much so we didn't see quite as much growth with them, but it was still there.

I had thought book #5 was the conclusion to the series, but now I know there is a 6th one coming out next year which is still untitled. Seeing how the plot is progressing it might be the last or maybe there will be a #7. Either way I will definitely be reading them all and probably rereading the entire series again at some point!

What can I say...I wish I was a Gallagher Girl!

My favorite part about this book you ask? TEEN 👏 GIRLS 👏 FEELING 👏 COMPLICATED 👏 EMOTIONS!!!👏👏👏 This is the first one of the books that I don't remember reading as a teenager, so I was walking in mostly blind, and wow does this book get dark!! But the highlight of it was seriously that Cammie is not only feeling so many complicated and distressing emotions, but that she's allowed by the narrative to deal with them. The girl's been traumatized and that's not gonna go away with just a hug from her mom and a chat with her friends, and I genuinely cannot think of another book off the top of my head that has done this so well. And speaking of her friends, they're allowed to be angry too. Bex especially tells Cammie exactly what she's feeling, and that includes being angry that Cammie left them all behind, and it doesn't just go away after that conversation, but it also still doesn't change the fact that they're sisters, and even if Bex is still pissed at her, she still cares and wants to help, and I just... UGH Ally Carter you have my heart and soul for this one!!

Wow, words can’t possibly describe how epic and dark this book is. The change in tone sent the Gallagher Girls series soaring to new heights, to a place I wish hadn’t ended so soon. I am officially obsessed with Cammie and her adventures.

Imagine waking up in a foreign bed; bruised, battered and believing you left home for the summer 3 days ago, only to find out 4 months have gone past and you have no memory of it. Well, this is what happens to Cammie Morgan. For a spy-in-training, loss of memory is like losing a limb. Without it, Cammie could put herself and the people she loves in danger – but danger isn’t something new for her. I always feel incredibly sorry for characters that lose their memories. With the amount of trouble they face on a day-to-day basis, it seems unfair to throw an internal obstacle in their way too. But it does make for an interesting storyline. The twists and turns that evolve from Cammie’s memory issues leaves you desperate to flick through the pages as fast as possible.

‘Out of Sight, Out of Time’ was the most emotional Gallagher Girls book so far. Cammie struggles to find herself and rekindle relationships because of her memory loss. The way Ally Carter puts her in so many vulnerable situations – and shows the growth and development Cammie achieves – had me tearing up at times. I love the change and progress the series – and Cammie – has made. The easy going, fun and carefree story we got in book #1 is long gone. Sure there is still the occasional joke and Cammie’s voice is still incredibly natural and addictive – but there is a deeper and more dangerous and lifeless tone that gives me shivers. I love when a dark book is written so well – there’s no denying the power of words.

There’s not as much fighting-action in ‘Out of Sight, Out of Time’, but the amount of mystery more than makes up for it. The unknown nature of the book practically sends Cammie and her friends all over the world – finally the spies get to go on active missions outside of America. It definitely highlights the fact that Cammie has aged throughout the series; that her horizons have expanded.

I’ve said it before, that I love Cammie’s friends, but I should probably mention just how awesome her mother and the teachers at Gallagher Academy are. Despite coming from all different worldly organisations – the teachers seem to form their own band of operatives and the loyalty between them is fantastic. I love seeing supporting characters who do more than just fill space on a page. Everyone has a role and is an important and enjoyable addition to the story.

The worst part about finished this book is that fact that I’ve caught up in the series, and the wait for the final book is going to be torture...but I’m sure it’ll be well worth the wait.

4.5 stars.

This series keeps going from strength to strength for me.
The first few books was just a couple of girls getting up to some high jinks with the odd cute boy thrown in.

But as the series goes on it keeps adding depth & the overall arc just keeps getting better.
This one starts up 5-6 months after the last book but with Cammie having absolutely no memory of what happened in the time between deciding to leave every one to protect them & now.

I really don't know what the hell is gonna happen next, but what I love about this series is you do get lots of answer's in each book but they in turn lead to new questions.

Looking forward to the next one....which will hopefully have more convo's between Zach & Cammie, they really need a bit more page time :)

This series was the peak of preteen reading for me, but I only ever made it to book 4! It was fun to pick this back up and I’m excited to see how the next book closes out the story.
