Not even sure where to start with this one.  A very difficult read to say it mildly. The book starts off intense and never lets down. A novel that gets deeply into the kidnapping and torture of children. So disturbing!
As a parent, how far could you push yourself to save your child or take revenge?  How could you not.
The writing of the story itself was great but the content was so hard to read at times.

This being my first horror read… I’m not sure if I have the stomach for it. You could say I’m devastated, in a good way? Is this how one is supposed to feel after reading a book in this genre? It was a great story, I was certainly invested in the characters, a truly broken family.

I NEVER back out of a book because I can’t handle it, but chapter 3 was just too much… I don’t want to know what the rest of this book has in store after that. I’m good on this one.
