Simple and cute with a sing-song plot and deductive reasoning.

I gave this one a 4 simply for the moral of it: "No matter what you step in, keep walking along and singing your song... because it's all good." Love that!

THIS BOOK MAKES ME WANT TO THROW MYSELF OFF A BUILDING THEN CRAWL BACK UP AND DO IT AGAIN OVER AND OVER AND OVER UNTIL THAT STUPID GOD AWFUL SONG GETS UNSTUCK FROM MY BRAIN. I THINK I ACTIVELY LOST BRAIN CELLS WHILE READING THIS FOR EXAMPLE: SINCE WHEN DO CATS WEAR SHOES ???????????????????????????????????

OKAY HERED WHY THIS BOOK SHOULD BE THROWN INTO THE GARBAGE DISPOSAL AND THEN USE THE SHREDDED PAPER GRINDS TO DO SMTH HELPFUL LIKE MAKE BETTER CHILDRENS BOOKS SO THE YOUTH DONT ALSO GROW UP EMOTIONALLY DAMAGED,
THAT CAT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND COLORS. WHEN U STEP IN STRAWBERRIES AND UR SHOES TURN RED (not pink might i add which would make more sense because of like strawberry juice being pink) AND YOU STEP INTO BLUEBERRIES (blueberry juice is purple) THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT STEPPING INTO STRAWBERRRIES AND PAINTING THEM RED AND STEPPING INTO BLUEBERRIES IT WOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY BE RED THEY WOULD MIX TIGETHER UNTO PURPLE BECAUSE UH COLOR THEORY.
SECOND REASON CATS DONT WEAR SHOES ESPECIALLY CONVERSE THEIR PAWS ARE TOO CIRCULAR THE SHOES WOULD SLIP OFF WHAT WERE THE ILLUSTRATORS THINKING STUPID DUMB ILLUSTRATORS THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY ON THAT
THIRDLY YA KNOW I WAS BEGINNING TO GIVE THIS BOOK THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT ‘OH PETE THE CAT ISNT THAT BAD’ (that’s me giving it the benefit of the doubt) AND THEN THE SHOES GOT WET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE COLOR ALL WASHED AWAY??? NOT HOW THAT WORKS IT WOULD STAIN FOR SURE I MET MY LIMIT I HAD TO CLOSE THE BOOK THATS RIGHT I RDFD PETE THE CAT
(PS HE MADE SUCH A BIG DEAL OUTTA THE SHOES GETTING WET HE DIDNT EVEN STOP TO THINK ABT THROWING THEM IN THE DRYER???) drama queen fr

Pete the Cat is one groovy dude. Nothing bothers him, even when he steps in various messy things in his brand new white shoes. I have to say, this thing has no plot whatsoever but it's actually kind of enjoyable. 3 year old is mostly amused by a cat who wears shoes.

This book is literally made for story time. It has great interactive elements, repetition, a song element, and a lesson at the end! Thanks, Pete the Cat!

This book drives me nuts, so naturally it's a favorite at storytime. This book will haunt me for the rest of my days.
