Yeah wow... Where do I start.
Jayne (with a y, "so unusual") can see people's deaths. But only sometimes. Only if she makes eye contact with someone who smells like lemons.

Also she says "criminy". A lot. And lord is she dumb.

It's like the author had a great idea and then didn't know how to construct a plot around it. Or had ever met a teenager, ever. These teens talk like 50 year old women and don't know how cell phones work.

Things start to go wrong for Jayne when a serial killer moves into her home town and she accidentally Sees a girl die at his hands. She can't really give that her full attention though because a really cute guy also moved to town at the same time and is constantly flirting with her.

Hmmm.

I absolutely loved this book. Not only was I exicited about receiving this book through Goodreads First Reads, I was excited because it is an amazing book. I serioulsy could not put this book down once I began the story and I strongly recommend it. It's well written and engaging for the young adult crowd and those who enjoy young adult novels. After I read the book I thought about the character of Jayne a fair bit and her skill.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a great mix of mystery and mythology. And while the likelihood of someone having the visions Jayne has is slim to none, it doesn’t feel overly fictitious.

Sometimes when Jayne touches a person she can see their horrific death that includes her Sister and the new English boy at school who she is falling for. She has a premonition about a girl who is killed by a serial killer and she goes to the police and somehow he finds out and now he’s after her too.
Although this book is in the YA category I really enjoyed it and I’m 57 . There’s a few twists and turns and it keeps you guessing however I guessed a certain person had links to the serial killer but I won’t spoil it for future listeners.
Lucy Emerson did a great job with the narration and I commend her on Aaron’s English accent.

Interesting premise

Good read, kept me engaged the whole way through. Actions sometimes seemed glossed over and I would have to go back to get my bearings. But overall, very fun!

I love the goddess of fate series! Definitely planning on reading it again soon. Inevitable the first 1 is kinda like a murder mystery it was really good the ending was a little creepy. But the very ending is really good and also kinda sad. But overall I loved the book and the series! Great read definitely recommend it if you like Greek mythology even if you don’t like Greek mythology you will fall in love with the characters!
