Leer esta autobiografía ha sido una inspiración. Poder conocer a la ex Primera Dama de Estados Unidos desde un punto de vista tan personal, ver todos los roles que desempeñó, todo lo que la motivó para hacer aún más, ha sido todo un viaje.

It is with complete surprise that I write it was a struggle for me to get through this book. While her life growing up is in itself a story to be told, it was quite wordy and seemed to be never ending. The book really picked up its pace once I hit a little past the halfway mark so I’m glad I stuck it out.
I had ridiculously high expectations for Becoming so I grew really frustrated that it took me weeks (yes, weeks) to get through the first half. Mrs. Obama will always hold a special place in my heart as her story is one that many women of color can relate to once we strip away the title of First Lady. And, while I struggled to get through this book, it is still one that I’d recommend for others to read.

Loved this. Really adored Michelle and family before, but this was fantastic. She is so real and down to earth and honest about things, the things that frustrated and scared her, the pain and the hope she felt. The worry for her daughters and the issues that families face under this kind of pressure and scrutiny and the time constraints. Highly recommend.

I don’t usually grab memoirs but ive had an eye on this one since it was published but i had never reached for it until I had to read it for my American Lit class and i’ve never been so happy to have read it. It was so good to human not only michelle but her family as a whole, i mean obviously I know they are human but its so easy to be intimidated by them because of who they are but this books really made it easy to relate to them even if only in the way she constantly questioned herself even tho she was so successful.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the forever first lady. Her writing showed her vulnerability as she told her story. Her story is relatable and inspirational. In some instances, I could relate to some of her feelings when she was in college and when she was a newlywed wife. This book uplifted my soul and I am glad that I finally read it.

I am not generally one for biographies. This was our book club pick for the month. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed getting a peak into the life of Mrs. Obama. Such an intelligent and insightful bio from growing up South Side to the White House.

Intelligently and thoughtfully written. This memoir was inspiring! I enjoyed learning about Michelle's early life, initial meeting with her future husband, and so much more. The insight provided on politics and the experience of a dedicated first Lady will stay with me.
