This was very different to other books that I have read by this author. It kept my interest throughout. I recommend it.

The last 80 or so pages had me bawling like a baby. I was so engrossed in the lives of these characters and felt every emotion they were feeling. Great book.

Structurally, I love a dual POV and timeline jumps so that book is *chef's kiss* for that.

The story itself was mysterious and sad at times, but I didn't find I connected with the characters. It's not my favourite book of Burton's but I do love the author and will read future books.
