First Read (2019)
★★★★
Second Read (2022)
★★★½
Continuing from where we left off in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Lost Hero is a good start, promising a bigger adventure by the time we finish it.
This is a review of my 2022 reread. While most of the book feels enjoyable, it did not feel as exciting as Percy Jackson and the Olympians books. Since I already know the plot beforehand, the reveals did not really surprise me and it did not feel as good as my first time.
Piper is my favourite character amongst the trio. I also felt Jason did not get enough time to get a feel of his psyche and I did not really root for him most of the time. Given that we are told the story with three character PoVs, I expect it to get better in the future books. I missed Percy, and his sense of humor, which made the previous books very enjoyable reads. I look forward to reading his story in The Son of Neptune.
