I'm always impressed by Carla Kelly's ability to write about the practicalities and harsh realities of war in a way that doesn't feel too overburdening. I loved how the three stories featured three generations of the same family. Some of the content was a bit surprising to me until I realized this book was published with Harlequin.

I read Carla Kelley romances because they are sweet, simple (but not TOO simple), straight shooting stories with stand up characters we can all root for. These three stories are the same quality as her longer books so if you like her, read these too.

Three lovely short romances featuring three generations of the same family. I feel like the first story was the most fleshed out but my only real complaint about the other two is that I wished they were longer. I really liked the characters and wanted to get to know them and their backgrounds even more than I did.

Kelly can always be relied on for a good read. This anthology of 3 holiday romance novellas follows the same family over 3 generations from the 1810s to the 1870s.

Enjoyed these; I very much liked the medical aspect and the settings.
