Cold in the Shadows
4 Stars

Tasked by the president to unmask a deadly assassin, CIA agent Patrick Killion must determine if feisty biologist Audrey Lockhart is a seasoned killer or an innocent scapegoat.

The on-the-run suspense plot is exciting from the get-go, and the climax and resolution are intense and satisfying. Audrey and Killion's romance also has both the steam and the emotion sorely lacking in the previous book.

The secondary cast is fantastic with several particularly nasty villains (although it is easy to figure out the mastermind's identity), and a couple of gorgeous former SAS operatives who will hopefully get their own books sometime soon.

One thing that did come across as strange is the description of Audrey as a frog biologist. A scientist who studies amphibians is called a batrachologist, and as Anderson is a marine biologist one would expect her to use the correct terminology . . . nevermind, the rest of the book is wonderful!

Killion is hilarious and Audrey is unexpectedly spirited. Fun read. That's all.

It's tough that I'm setting everything to the standard of a Loreth Anne White novel now.

This is book #5 in the Cold Justice series. Audrey is a frog biologist and was almost killed. Patrick saved her. What a ride they were on!! Who set them up? Who was the assassin? I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. So far, this one is my favorite!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

My favourite of the series so far! I was looking forward to a Killion-centric story since we've met him on book two, and this definitely did not disappoint. Parker and Killion are my favourite of the series, and I'm so happy that they've finally get the chance to work together, though I do miss his and Brenner's bromance. Audrey's the perfect match for Patrick, the side characters were just as awesome, I just love everything about this one.

Cold Justice Book Five

In the wake of the Vice President's murder, Patrick Killion is on the hunt for the man's assassin. Due to her work with the very animal used to kill him, Audrey Lockhart is Killion's top suspect. He warns her off at night, but she reports the attack and draws attention to herself. With a target on her back, Patrick must get her out of the area or he will lose his answers before having a chance to ask for them. Audrey has to convince Patrick of her innocence before she loses what little she has left.

If you love a good spy thriller and a smart romance combined, this is the series for you!

Audio Review:
Eric G Dove continues to create the world of Cold Justice with ease. He enunciates each character carefully and fully. Each person has a distinct voice and character that adds depth to the world the author has created.
