DNF at 31%, its a why choose monster romance.

The way it is written is a big factor for why I DNF'd. There's not really a plot or reasons why things happen and the plot that is there isn't explained. The worldbuilding isn't great either, I think it's semi modern because someone was wearing jeans? The first many chapters were confusing and very fast paced. The way the main character's magic works made me feel a little uncomfortable and a lot of the description and dialogue were awkward.

From where I've got it feels like it's a book meant mostly for the spice and not the story, but even in the spicy scenes I saw they felt a bit disconnected and awkward how some things played out.

Over all just not the right fit for me.

I got an advanced reader copy of this book on Aug 19, 2023. It is now the 20th and I devoured this book! It was a fast burn, dive head first into the spice book, that does not disappoint! The monsters are not gentle, but our leading lady is not delicate. The fire and heat is intense and I had a hard time putting the book down.
Highly recommend and I can’t wait for the rest of this series to come out.
