I still don’t think I understand this world very well. I like the books, but don’t love them because in always feel slightly confused about what is happening…

I hear that Jodi Taylor thought that the story was finished, but still would like to write more.

I can see that dilemma. I was kind of surprised of the very end of this book. It seemed to me that the story had thrown up TOO many threads, and could not completely gather it all again and end the story too. So it felt just a tad rushed when I heard "The end" (I was on the audiobook)

But I loved the story - and this last book (so far) also. I do hope Elizabeth Cage will return...

I'm usually too lazy to write reviews but the ending pissed me off so badly I had to.

Seriously?! Wtf?! First of all, it's confusing because she has the memories, except of what happened on Christmas, but they're fuzzy enough that she just ignores them and acts like everything is fine? That's some next level denial that is seriously unhealthy. And then Jones comes back because his boss orders him to, which also makes no sense, because he would have told his boss what happened and anyone with any common sense would not want to work with that person. Speaking of Jones, f**k that dude for just walking out on Christmas. Cage just learned that basically her whole life was fake and he just abandons her? Cause he's scared? What a d**k. But then when he does come back, for previously mentioned job related reasons, he takes pity on her cause she's lonely enough to want to adopt a ghost child. And just like that, everything is back to normal?! Gtfo. No. I'm done.

Not quite 3 stars. Not nearly as good as the first two books in the series and the ending was disappointing.

For me this was not as good as the first two. Enjoyable all the same though.

Long Shadows by Jodi Taylor

Book 3 in the Elizabeth Cage Series

4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There is something satisfying about stumbling across a book series so much later then everyone else and binge reading the entire series to date.

Well after the un surety of the second book, book three completely redeemed herself. This was the book where everything came together with some big reveals. I’ve forgiven Jodi Taylor for the introduction of the Troll which gladly hasn’t been seen again.

Fantastically I didn’t anticipate the true nature of Elizabeth and was completely taken back by the ending. Gladly there is some chat that this isn’t the final book, so I’m looking forward to book 4 with anticipation.
