I give this book like 3.75 ⭐️. It’s almost a 4⭐️ but the beginning had a really hard time pulling me in. The ending was amazing though. Overall I enjoyed it.

🖤☄️🛸✨⚫️⭐️👽🌙🚲

When Stranger Things meets The Goonies and throws in a little Super 8, you get When the Sky Fell on Splendor. I am a huge Emily Henry fan and have read and loved all of her newer Romance releases. However, I recently discovered she wrote YA books before Romance. So of course this was our September book club book. Who knew Emily Henry wrote about aliens?! Not me. To say I was intrigued would be an understatement.

This book has a perfect balance between real life intensity (relationship problems, grief) and the supernatural elements. Her signature banter is also weaved throughout which did not disappoint. It was so fun trying to guess what was happening and I definitely did not guess the ending. This ending up being a heartfelt tale about friendship, grief, family, and community. The ending is…⚫️✨🥹🛸🖤😭 (just read it). Thank you Emily, I would (do) read your grocery list🛒📝🍿

tbh idk what happened, I've been distracted roaming my fav city in this colony
first time being there since the genocide and I'm glad I still love it. I really need to fucking move.
I mostly listened to this on the drive while contemplating my life.

While I don't actually understand the ending, Henry writes characters well so I enjoyed disassociating with this book
