A collection of some of Issac Asimov's most famous short stories.

The master of science fiction, not much to say except that if you haven't read Asimov, you absolutely should. Even years after being written his work is still relevant, although this book has a wonderful introduction from the man himself wherein he talk about his "future prediction powers" and how they have (or have not) stood the test of time.

I had read a few of these stories, but I was surprised to find that one of my favorite stories of all time, Lest We Remember, was included as I had no idea that Asimov had penned it. Just another reason to love him.

5 of five stars, always recommended.

I am a huge fan of Asimov's short stories. To be honest...I don't think I have ever read one that I didn't like...but this particular collection has some of my absolute favorites including The Feeling of Power and The Ugly Little Boy. This collection is NOT all robot stories. In fact...it isn't even mostly robot stories...but it is a great collection of some of his best. I highly recommend this one. I listened to the audio version and the narrator was very good.

It is interesting to reread Asimov in the modern day and see how different times have become. This is a collection of Asimov’s brilliance.

It is also a collection of educated white men talking, smoking cigarettes, dealing with giant un-networked computers, and talking to robots with less processing power than my phone.

But when Asimov is on, there is no one like him.

I mostly can't fault the stories here, but I feel like the structure of them was a bit off - particularly one long segment of very dry (and coincidentally, shorter) speculative stories, bookended by several more interesting pieces that would be better positioned as islands in between the dryer works. Not so much to do with robots, either. As much as I enjoyed the odd story here and there, I think this much Asimov all at once has put me off Foundation, for now. (I'm in the middle of three different series anyway, so maybe I'll be in the mood for it when I'm done...)
