Malo sam nakaradno uskočio u ovog novog Betmena, ali ovo nije bilo loše - svakako je čudno (i originalno) te i vredi videti Džokera kako se mršti. Samo pobogu zašto Ridler izgleda kao žigolo?

4.5/5.

King does a great job balancing so many villains, all wrapped up in the war between Joker and Riddler. More than that, he adds some of the philosophy he's known for, which makes this even more enjoyable. I also love how Batman was featured less prominently (along with the flashback nature), and it focused more on Joker and Riddler.

Wow, this book surprised me. I'm a fan of Tom King's work but I wasn't really a fan of his Batman run. This volume changed my opinion. I think the main reason I love this volume so much is that King really knows how to write joker and riddler. How the riddler needs structure while Joker is more improv and it's layered to the point where it really is a battle between improv and structure. Jokes and riddles. Also having Kite man's origin story was surprisingly serious and sad which I liked. Now if I had a problem with the story it's with the characterization of a few other characters. I like Batman and Catwoman's relationship but for whatever reason, I don't like how King writes it. I can't explain it but there's something about his writing on those characters that bothers me. Still, this is a fantastic batman book and one that may be regarded as a classic a few years down the road.

This is the story of Batman telling Catwoman his deepest darkest secret before they get married, giving her an out.

For me, the story is so fragmented that it is hard to get into and really follow what is going on. Things happened and had no conclusion or followup. Like the scene where Bruce Wayne hosts a dinner to try to arrange for the war to end.

And at the end, I had the same response as Catwoman:

The second graphic novel finished, finally! Riddler wants to form an alliance with Joker to kill Batman, but Joker doesn't want and tries to kill him. This leads to a war and villains taking sides, and Batman caught in the middle but determined to stop it.
This is a fun read with that kind of morbid humor that makes you chuckle. It is about the Joker and Riddler after all. It also reads a little bit like a gangster story of the 1930s. Its artwork is very good, though the Riddler's look is not my favorite, and looks realistic. It was great to see all the villains I am familiar thanks to the movies and Gotham the FOX television, but they do not play a huge role because Riddler, Joker, and Batman are who this one is about. "Kite Man" feels pointless as he's just a character to keep action moving. His son is a victim of....Riddler? It makes him vulnerable to used by the others and the name is silly. I guess the name was motivated by the last thing him and his son were doing. Still silly. Though, it's Vol. 4 I had no trouble following the story. One of plus' of graphic novels is their quick reads with mostly pictures and very little words. An amusing Joker/Riddler story.

This one’s the best so far because it’s self-contained and weirder than anything that’s come before it. I’m hoping the series stays closer to this than the earlier volumes as it continues.

Wow, I tend to think of Batman as grimdark but this definitely is a step up from what I expected. Both the Joker and the Riddler are terrifying enough to make it abundantly clear why they are so well-known as villains (the incident with the kite was particularly chilling). I loved the frictions between the two villains and Batman, as well as Bruce making an appearance intervening as a "concerned citizen".

This one was an ok read.

It was interesting to see how Batman dealt with both the Ridler and Joker in their war.
