My high expectations have been surpassed yet again. The world of these books continues to utterly enthrall me, as do the central cast of characters. It is wonderful to get into the heads of each member of the group, and I can only imagine there is much more intrigue yet to come from those explorations.

I am absolutely invested in the story as it progresses into the latter half of the series. That said, part of me worries that Bancroft played all of his cards in this novel and that there will be little mystery and wonder yet to come. Only one way to find out, I suppose.

I wasn't as hooked from this one as from the first in the series. It seemed to stray from the overall plot much more, though maybe that feeling becomes clear after finishing the series. Also felt very _Through the Looking Glass_ to me, again moreso than the first book. I'm still interested in continuing to the next book though, after a break.
