I really enjoyed this book in it's funny and heartfelt moments. I felt like there wasn't unnecessary conflict and had a great way of telling the story of their relationship. Such a cute story and loved the characters. I am interested to read more of her books.

I loved these characters from the very first page. Farley is so relatable and the anxiety she felt through out felt so real. Meyer is now my all time favorite book boyfriend. I honestly cannot say enough about this book. 5 stars seems too low. This is a total reread every few months for sure. I love it that much!

FUNNY FEELINGS

i know why i waited to read this, and that was so that i had this fantastic book to read when i really needed it.

the start of the dedication: ✨this book is dedicated to all the women who’ve ever been told that they’re too much.✨

i often feel 'too much' in this world and this book reminded me that for those that truly know me and love me - i am just enough. 🫶🏼

thank you tarah for writing such *powerful* YEARNING and PINING. it is my absolute favourite thing! *kicks feet*

blurb: farley jones is heading to the big time as a comedian, with the help of her manager, comic legend meyer harrigan. they keep it professional, despite serious longing on both sides until farley is invited to join a female comic tour and they pitch farley and meyer fake dating to feed the press and build buzz for the tour.

my and fee try HARD to keep things friendly but sparks are soon flying and maybe this relationship shouldn't be so fake anymore.

i loved their dynamic and particularly meyer's daughter hazel. her deafness was weaves into the story beautifully.

this one's for those of us that just can't help being extra!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book about a comedian and her manager whose relationship evolves from close friendship to romance with the help of a fake dating for publicity arrangement. It was funny and lighthearted, yet also dove into self esteem issues and the challenges of single parenthood. I will say it was a smidge irritating how it tried to convince us that the pair was reluctant to enter their fake dating arrangement when they were so obviously madly in love with one another long beforehand. Also, the conflict at the end didn't feel well fleshed out and was resolved way too quickly. But overall, this was a delightful and super romantic read.

It’s too bad you can’t judge a book by its cover because I would have loved this book. The story was not funny or interesting and the characters felt very one dimensional.

This was a truly great read, as with all of Tarah DeWitt's books; the characters and story are all top-notch, and I appreciated the Deaf representation.  The only reason I rated this as a three-star rather than a four-star read was that the resolution of Farley and Meyer's hurt feelings at the end of the book was accomplished way too quickly.  I look forward to checking out Rootbound next!
