I really liked the characters but I felt like there wasn’t enough actual relationship development

I am a huge fan of Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians, Icehome, and Aspect & Anchor series…

This did not quite measure up but it did manage to capture some of that adorable blue alien charm we have all come to love. No spice until chapter 17 (in case that is what you came for) 😉

🎙️ I adore these narrators for RD’s books!

So there were quite a few editing issues I kept picking up on, mainly to do with clothes reappearing after they were removed etc, but overall it was a pretty good one. The scene where they put the gun together was hella steamy, and while this is much more a slow burn (or as slow as you can get with a short book) it was all worth it. So excited for more on these guys, and all the other series Ruby has going!

4/5 ⭐
2/5 🌶️

**Tropes**
-Slow burn
-Flamboyant MMC
-Insta love from him, build from her

📖 **My Thoughts**
Ruby Dixon just writes such easy reads. This alien read is set in space. A space pirate picks up a human who is on track to become a sex slave. Then comes a slow burn, sweet romance between Kivian and Fran

⚠️ **Triggers**
-Kidnap
-Threat of SA/rape
-Groping
-Some trama
-Death/mild gore

<:0_flag_progress_pride:1077471157575491594> **Representation**
Nope.

🌶️ **Spice**
Spice takes a while to get started then typical Ruby smut

Quite sweet and not smutty at all, rather a well-written slowburn, if not for blue aliens, I'd think I took a wrong book.

KIVIANNNNNNN! This was such a fantastic, quick read; i wanted it to be longer!! This has been the first book in a long time where I genuinely liked both the mmc AND the fmc. & i'm so hopelessly in love with Kivian's flirty charisma - I want one. The *only* gripe I have is towards the end where they just sat down & had a little "I love you, do you love me? You love me? I love you too! Let's love eachother together" convo... It seemed too forced & out of place, like it was there just to keep the story moving or something - i wished the book had been a few pages longer so that their realization would've happened with small & increasingly more aggressive actions at night in the bedroom & not during a one-on-one conference call. But I shall look past it because I totally loved this read.
