So crazy to me that this was casually made 2500 years ago, there's so many elements of this that engage me, can't believe my aunt is just teaching these lectures love you Julie Bates. She's such a comedy lover and we love her for that. The idea of translating something that's so truly Athenian and made full of in jokes and everything is such a deeply interesting task to me I Need to learn ancient Greek. It was funny and almost radical in our time but so absurd for that time that it possibly wasn't radical?? Recontextualisation guys...

Don't believe the hype. The existence of the idea is crucial; reading the actual play is not. Women of Athens and Sparta go on a sex strike, demanding peace between the currently warring cities. It works.

Farcical with playful obscenity.
