Another great story in a brilliant series. Once again it is tense, occasionally steamy and a little dark. I'll be honest when I first heard it was Jons story I wasn't overly psyched because well it's not Blaze and comparatively Jon just seemed lame but I'll admit I was wrong. Jon is a sweetheart and I loved super badass Lawan.
Lawan is a female hybrid who has had it bad in life and now spends her time between kicking vampire butt and drinking her problems away with only the company of her pet cat Oscar (who is just the cutest little fierce protector).
Jon is vampire struggling to deal with what he is and working with the hybrids to try to stop Regin, a viscous ruthless vampire. They both learn that sometimes the hardest monsters to fight are those inside of you.
Jon is not your typical male protagonist and is filled with self doubt and loathing. Lawan is reckless and filled with hate. Are they both too broken or are they just what the other needs to help them heal?
The story again is expertly told the plot is full of depth and excitement. I love the return of the other characters and getting more backstory on other characters. The book had me smiling and at the edge of my seat screaming at it (like it could help haha)
Another great addition to a brilliant series and I can't wait to read more

Black Bullet by L.D. Rose is the second book in The Order of the Senary series. This book focuses on Jonathan Kerr. He is now a vampire but was a Marine and FBI agent in his former life. Lawan Knight is a hybrid and she has come to trust no one. The two end up working together and learning to trust one another. This book has supernatural, suspense, action, and romance all in one. The story and writing are well done. The pace of the story kept me reading and not wanting to put it down. I enjoyed the characters and story and look forward to more from this series. It reminded me of some current action films but had a better story and characters. I have enjoyed this book and will be reading more from L.D. Rose.

Black Bullet (The Order of the Senary) By L.D. Rose
4 Stars!!!!

I love finding new authors. I also like finding new series. This book is the second in the series and I am very excited to see what more the author has to offer. I was totally hooked from page one. As well as my total habit of reading out of order!!

I found that I was quite drawn to Jon as well as Lawan. I really found the book quite refreshing and unique. The way that the author didn't straight away bring them together and how the added drama unfolds really kept me fixed on this book. I like how they have a common goal but Lawan really tries to fight her feelings. I found Lawan's character to be more relatable and also I like that the book isn't predictable. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series in the future.

Black Bullet (Order of the Senary #2)

Black Bullet is the second book in the Order of the Senary series and another book that I absolutely loved reading! I loved the dark, edgy side to this paranormal read; it makes it really different to read. The author built on the first book incredibly well with this story as we got to find out more about the characters. I really liked the story about Jon and Lawan; they both had their own issues so it was interesting to see them work through those.
The authors writing was excellent, she had my attention from the very beginning. I usually like paranormal romance stories so this series is a little different for me but I am still enjoying it and I would highly recommend it!
I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future and to see what is next to come in this series!

I loved this the further along it got! It’s a bit slow at first but picks up and moves right along so don’t give up! After reading the last book I couldn’t wait for this one. I was curious where the author would take the story. We follow Jon who is but isn’t a vampire. He has many struggles, as the book moves forward, other than the obvious. He stumbles across another hybrid one evening. There are many surprises once he tracks down this hybrid. I have to say even I didn’t see them all coming. The author did a wonderful job not giving out too much information...so I couldn’t figure out all the secrets.

I still enjoy the camaraderie between the group of hybrids. Glad they came together and all *mostly* get along. Each has their own quirkinesses and irritations. All the time spent with the whole crew is always enlightening and fun. Usually some of my favorite times in the books and always makes me smile.

I can’t wait for the next book! I am wanting to find out more about Shaul, Dax even Roman. Wait I forgot one...Kaj! These guys all will have amazing stories and I can’t wait to find what makes them tick. Next please!

L.D. Rose’s Black Bullet is a paranormal/romance story. The characters are genuine, and the scenery is so detail orientated. I enjoyed the simplicity of the story. This story was a fast read as well. There were some roller coaster rides throughout the story. I was at the seat of my recliner and yelling involved but I loved the story. This story is about Jonathan and Lawan. Both characters have some personal demons that they need to work out. What makes this work even more the both find themselves and they build each other up and makes everything alright.

I loved this book! My favorite yet in this series. I loved how I was pulled in to this story right from the beginning and kept me turning pages until the end. The characters took me on a journey that was full of action and twist and turns that left me sitting on the edge of my seat. I loved Jonathan’s character. He wakes up a vampire, something that he has hated and hunted but now he is one of them. Now he tries to make a difference but how big of a difference will he make? A must read!

Black Bullet is the second book in The Order of the Senary series by L.D Rose. This is a wonderfully original (dark) paranormal romance with plenty of action, drama, violence, danger, and adventure. The world building in this story is first-rate! This was a really well written, multi-layered plot that kept me completely engrossed from start to finish.
We met Jonathan Kerr, who is a vampire, in the first book- but get to know him really well in this book. He’s a unique, interesting, confused, and tortured soul. Lawan Knight is a hybrid who had been held and tortured by vampires and was traumatized by the experience. So, what happens when these two tortured and haunted souls’ cross paths? You really should read all the intriguing details for yourself!
You don’t need to have read the first book in the series before starting this one, but I really recommend that you do because the first book gives so much back story and character introductions- with which would enhance your reading experience of this book.
I really felt for Jon and Lawan, and what they’d been through- their burden of pain was palpable.
A fantastic addition to the series, and my favourite, so far!

Thank you, Ms. Rose!

Black Bullet (The Order of the Senary #2) by L.D. Rose is a must read dark paranormal romance that will have you on the edge of your seat. There is lots of action and horror, bloodshed and gore, mayhem and angst. This journey will have you captivated as we traverse the dark and twisted world that has turned upside down and left broken and tortured beings that you can’t help but love.

Jonathan James Kerr, a US Marine is dead but Jon, is undead, a hybrid with a soul and living with a monster in him. He and his family, his brothers of sorts are trying to rid the world of the vile creatures that are causing death and destruction. Jon has stumbled upon one thing that the world didn’t know existed and one thing his brothers thought long dead. One thing that may be just what he needs.

The is a dark and gripping tale that you do not want to miss. I can not wait for the next one.

No words. Simply put, this series just got better somehow. You must read the first book in order to truly appreciate the magic in these pages. From beginning to end, this book captivated me. Rose is a master storyteller and this book simply doesn’t disappoint. A must read.
