This is one of the first nonfiction books that I’ve like…actually liked reading. While this is specifically about Arab women, I think that every person would benefit in reading this. Maybe not all of it, but definitely the big concepts. I had never really thought about the origin of women’s oppression before, and this was a really nice way of introducing it I think.

This is a fantastic book about patriarchy and its origins, written by a Muslim, Arab woman. Anyone interested in the liberation of women should give it a read.
