I have such mixed feelings about this book! It started off rocky for me - I didn't really relate to the main character, her choices, and how she interacted with others, but over time things began to make more sense. There were still some awkward moments and almost-plot-holes that didn't quite add up, but honestly, her moments with Joe really won me over in the end.

I really liked this book a lot! Had there not been a little too much misunderstanding and not enough communication right at the end it probably would have been 5 stars. I cried a few times while reading it, but it definitely captured some truth about humanity and grief.

This was a cute little story. Things were predictable and I guessed what happened but it was still a fun read. I do prefer the bodyguard over this but it is still worth checking out if you want a rom com.

This just squeaked into 5 star territory by the end...

The bad:
  • It took me a loooong time to warm up to Sadie and 90% of her problems were self-inflicted
  • What in the world was Parker's purpose? Just villainous for villainy's sake, weird
  • Sue is kind of the worst best friend

The good:
  • The men! Such good love interests
  • The premise! So clever, unusual and interesting. I learned so much about prosopagnosia and the various experiences of it
  • The growth! Sadie made me so proud by the end
