Yacouba interrupts the proposal dinner Jasmine didn't really want to hem her boyfriend up about some owed money. But then he decides he wants her too.

Okay, so sign me up for kidnapping. Because Yacouba was smooth and suave, calm and collected. I love the way he just told Jasmine how grimy her man was and watched the fallout. That made me laugh. Then, he just whisked her away. And opened the door for her to stay. Him insisting on the nickname was so cute to me, and I knew he'd fallen. Just like others I've read in this vein, it shows that he's the real captured one. Resorting to this baser thing because being with her is all that matters. But Yacouba knew how to fall back and let Jasmine decide. Jasmine was the baddest. I loved her character. Her fight and her strength--even her intelligence and insight in admitting she'd settled and stayed because she was comfortable. I also loved that she stood up for herself and once she made the decision to make a new life with Couba, was willing to stand up for him. The rest of the Consortium intrigues me. A lot. This was a great read.
