I really enjoyed this book. There were some parts where I thought it was a little slow but overall I really enjoyed the story. I really liked that this was a complete story with a fantastic epilogue and I wasn't left with unanswered questions. For the most part, this was a light-hearted romance but the last 20% took me by surprise. I love the way this author dealt with that particular situation and it really reinforced my love for these characters. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!

It seems Lissa is having a bad month, not only did she find that her boyfriend had cheated on her but she ended up thrown from a horse and injured herself. Her only saving grace is a job opportunity with Ethan, truth be told her crush for awhile. After all Ethan oozes charm, tattoos, and has a body that wont quit.

Ethan though has had his own issues with trust especially surrounding his family. When one night between Lissa and Ethan gets carried away can they go back to friends or can Ethan let go of his hangups and give them a chance?

This was an unexpected treat. Loved Lissa, she is wacky and just calls it as she sees it, no filter. Ethan is so wrapped up in his own issues that it takes a bit for him to break through the wall he was hiding behind. Great read.

this was a pretty good read. it was a bit long (it almost felt like 2 parts) and i found my mind wandering a bit at times but it was overall a good, sweet read.

i loved how strong lissa is...she is definitely a fantastic character. she doesn't let too much petty crap bring her down and she's pretty self-confident. her relationship with ethan is strong and withstands all the ups and downs everyone hopes to be able to make it through in their own relationships.

ethan is a pretty amazing character as well. he's really sweet, loves lissa and is completely dedicated to her. his angst seems a little forced and manufactured and doesn't play into much of the main story but was still there for a minute.

the secondary characters are pretty good too - lawrence and steph should get a book! :) in the '2nd half' of the book, jennifer is a pretty strong character as well although we don't get much of her.

i would definitely read more of CM's work.

Shiver was such a fun, quirky book, filled with romance, laughs, and a two wonderful main characters. Lissa was what really made the book for me because she was so spunky, eccentric, and enjoyable. The first 75% moved at a great pace and I loved to see how things would play out for Ethan and Lissa but the last 15% felt a bit disjointed. It is great that CM was using this 15% to raise awareness of something near and dear to her heart, but it seemed like it could have been pulled together a bit more cohesively to fit in with the rest of the story. Though it appeared a bit disjointed, it was great to see Ethan and Lissa come together during a difficult time and see their love prevail.

Overall this is a 4.5 star book for me! I really really enjoyed it start to finish. It's the perfect blend of steamy and substance. When I'm reading a book I always LOVE the moment when I come to the part where I say Ah! That's how they came up with the title! And I must say I really loved this one! I found it had a lot of meaning to the story as a whole and sometimes the titles don't. I'm weird I know but that irritates me when it's like that. I messaged the author after finishing this book because of what happened near the end of the story and what followed in the pages after the story was done. It touched me so very much and hit so close to home I just had to reach out. I must say not only is CM Foss a great author she is a wonderful human! I can't wait to read the rest of what she has out there so I can be ready for new releases!
