I liked this perspective on the theme and characters. It's a very charged and a bit raw book. Almost a guilty pleasure reading material. Intriguing use of the chocolate motive.

The main character is an appalling Mary Sue. A fine book to wile away a Sunday afternoon (if you're into hetero hormone-fueled sexual tension) as long as you're not expecting the cream of the crop of YA lit. And yes, the cast of werewolves are like a gang of murderous, lusty hillbillies.

3 stars. This was a hot ass mess of a book but I had so much fun reading it. There's so much wrong with it but I couldn't stop reading it. I think this would've been better as an adult novel because then the characters would be aged up and this wouldn't have been as icky. Vivian is sixteen and the men around her are older and gross af. Hated that aspect of it. Other than that, this was very entertaining and bizarre.

So this wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but it also wasn't as terrible as I'd feared??

My love for this book is merely based on nostalgia.

I understand that the plot is weak, the character development nonexistent, and yet...I absolutely love this book and all its flaws. If you want a quick read with a splash of werewolves and romance, then I would recommend this everytime.

I liked this when I was a teenager, but some stuff hasn't aged well and I'm not interested anymore.

I liked this book a lot more than I expected I would, after the first few chapters. The writing is very juvenile, which took me some time to get over, but I loved the characters and the werewolf lore of this story. There were portions of the book that I found really uncomfortable -- such as the initial "courting" scenes between Gabriel and Vivien -- but overall I really, really liked it. (I was especially into the mating aspects of the pack, and the roughness and the biting and the intensity of the sexual tension between them. This book is very, very suggestive and I love, love, love that.)
