it is a very dark book. Extremely dark. It was very hard to get used with an antagonist because I am very fond of my nice protagonists that want to solve all the problems of the world. Adelina is not morally grey. She is black. She will do whatever it takes to achieve what she desires even if that means to separate herself from the people that have a different opinion than her. I can understand her motives but I can't agree with her or support her actions because she is cruel as hell.

Let us all count all the parties with their own motives involved in this story.
Adelina and the Rose Society.
The Daggers.
Other Elites.
Beldain.
The queen.
Teren.
Easily-swayed mundanes and the likes.
Whom did I miss???
