This book is A LOT emotionally to deal with, please check the author’s website for trigger warnings and just know that the dark themes of this dark romance should be taken seriously. All that said, I had a blast reading this. I couldn’t put it down, the 600+ pages flew by as they were always both action and emotion-packed.
Shocker, they were violently angry.
Men had no emotional range.

This book doesn’t have a conclusion to Aran’s story and while the book feels finished it does end on a cliffhanger. When I reached the 90% mark and realized that it would be impossible to wrap everything up and see Aran happy I was honestly a bit devastated. Aran’s suffering in this book is intense and I broke me that this book ended without her finding stability.
My new aesthetic was cozy, drug-dependent swamp monster.
Not to brag, but I nailed the look.
