For middle-school readers who enjoy a good freakout, this delivers the creep factor as well as a lot of laughs. No spoilers, but I was impressed by how the story moved from kind of silly to pretty creepy to genuinely bizarre (in a good way!). There are a couple of plot twists I did not see coming, which made it all the more fun to read. The conclusion is satisfying and heartfelt about being brave when it matters. I'd recommend this for kids who think the word decapitation is funny.

I had such a great time reading this book! I honestly couldn't put it down! I had to know what the monster was and why it was doing what it was doing! Ethan is a great main character and the kids will have no problem connecting with him and his friends! I hope there will be more adventures with them! If you are looking for a fun spooky read for you kids this is perfect! Thank you Tbr and Beyond Tours, Chuck Wendig and Little Brown Books for Young Readers for sharing this book with me!

This was such a good one! This author is always a hit but middle grade never saw it coming. I think it was a beautiful mix of age appropriate horror (for kids who can handle a bit of spooky) and a great message of not letting anyone take away what you love or bully/peer pressure you into not being yourself. I look forward to more!

Monster Movie by Wendig was a fun romp in a town where watching TV may result in you losing your head….

Ethan Pitowski is your average worry wart and scaredy cat who is forced to find a way to overcome his fears of well, everything, while trying to find and save his friends.

Whether is juvenile fiction or adult fiction, Wendig proves he’s a masterful writer who will leave you wanting more!

Thank you NetGalley and Little, Brown Books for Young Readers for allowing me the chance to read this ARC!
