I feel like it's time I finally give this book a proper rating and review instead of just giving it 5 stars for nostalgia.

That being said, I do LOVE this book. Sure, it's a little cheesy at times and certain characters *cough cough, Dallin* got on my nerves at some points but overall, I do love this book. It was the first book I ever finished recreationally and because of that, it will always have a special place in my heart.

A little trigger warning though, it talks heavily about having a drug addict parent, parental abandonment, and it does discuss some of the dangers of growing up in certain foster homes. So just be aware of that when you read this. Overall, it's a very mild, very sweet, young teenage romance book! šŸ«¶šŸ»

2020 Readā€” 4.5 stars. I loved this!! The whole plot, being locked in a library for three days, really interested me and I loved it!! The search for food and things to do was really fun to read about, as simple as it sounds.Ā
And Iā€™ve found that I really like plots where the boy and girl are forced to be together even though they donā€™t like each other and in the end they end up falling for each other. Itā€™s just really cute!ā˜ŗļø
I really liked seeing them slowly relax around each other, especially Dax. He was a sweetheart and I just wanted to give him a hug. Him and Autumn were definitely good together... (unlike her and Jeff...)Ā
I was always rooting for Dax so Iā€™m really happy with the way things turned out! ;) I also really liked Autumn as the MC. She was a really realistic, relatable character.Ā
This was just the light read I needed and I couldnā€™t put it down šŸ’›

2022 Rereadā€” (basically me fangirling)
I loved this book as much or even more than I did the first time I read it! I even upped my rating to 5 stars because I felt all the fangirl feels all over again. Ahh!!
I was laughing, snickering, and smiling basically the whole time. Along with fangirling a lot.Ā
I just love these two characters so much. They are teenagers dealing with real life stuff. Theyā€™re relatable and raw. These characters feel real.Ā
I realized how much I like Autumn in this reread. Sheā€™s such a kindhearted person but she also deals with people-pleasing to avoid conflict. I could relate. Sheā€™s so relatable. Her fear and worrying. Itā€™s real. I love how I felt so connected to her and her story the whole time. Itā€™s basically like sheā€™s talking to you and youā€™re getting all her feelings and emotions. You feel like your her best friend. I loved it.Ā
Ok and Iā€™m gonna talk about Dax again because this reread reminded me of something... I LOVE him!! Like a lot. I always fall for the guarded, quiet fictional boys who are misunderstood as the bad guy or underdog but really heā€™s just a misunderstood sweetheart. But I really fall for Dax. I just wanna give him a hug.Ā
Like heā€™s just so great. Heā€™s flawed, yes, but thatā€™s why I stinkin love him. I also love that he loves reading. Like when they were doing random things and he was like ā€œI could be reading right now.ā€ I could so relate. šŸ˜‚ I love how he loves nature and hiking and books and being lowkey. Heā€™s just great. The end. And Autumn and Dax are perfect together. I love how he was her person. Like he was the person who she could totally be herself around and relax with. I love how Dax slowly lets his guard downs and softens. Heā€™s so thoughtful and caring. I love how she goes to visit him. AND THE BRACELETS. Sweetest thing ever. Basically, their love story gives me all the feels.
So yes, I love this book even more. I was so sad for it to end. But Iā€™ll just come back to it when I wanna hang with these characters again. šŸ„°
